Outdoor Commercial Water Fountains
For those who own commercial properties, or large private properties with spacious gardens, then a commercially proportioned outdoor fountain can make an impressive centerpiece. Whether for a public park, a private secluded garden, or a high traffic mall car park, a big fountain can soon become a soothing focal point.
The sound of flowing water can weave its magic just about anywhere. In a public place, people will gather naturally to listen to the water, soak up the negative ions, and watch the patterns of the water as it spouts from the fountain and falls, with supreme grace or simple flow, to the receptacle of the fountain below.
One of the important considerations of installing a fountain in the garden is its positioning. A large fountain makes a wonderful centerpiece if positioned correctly. It is worth not only placing it where it can provide a good background for you to sit and relax, but also the view of it you will have from various angles, not only in the garden, but from the house or building too.
For example, I am planning a home in which the front door opens into a quite small hall, with a low level floor fountain. From the opened door, beyond the indoor fountain, will be a large picture window with a magnificent view of the bay and distant mountains. In the courtyard below, though, and in line with the small indoor fountain, will be a large feature fountain beside which we will be able to sit in the cool of morning and evening. At other times it will provide an appealing view from any rear window in the house, and any part of the sloping gardens.
Many commercial fountains are custom designed and made, but you can buy large fountains that come ready to install, often with circulating pump included, or at least available from the same supplier as an accessory. Those pictured here are in the pre-made category, available from an American supplier and delivery in contiguous US only. However, as most parts of the world have a long history of fountain usage, you are sure to find a good designer and supplier within your own country and area.
The top picture is of a classically designed cast stone fountain, with a vintage look finish. This one is just under 4 feet high, and is called Renaissance. The middle picture is of a rainfall fountain, a bit taller and also of cast stone, featuring two cherubic children and a puppy sheltering from the "rain".
